“Teaching in itself can be a very lonely endeavor. We need to network with colleagues. And while one can certainly teach on their own and not need a network, you’re not going to thrive in the profession in the way that you will if you are a member of the association.”

Ann Gipson, past MTNA president

“By being a member of MTNA, you really get to be on the cutting edge of everything that’s going on.”

Scott McBride Smtih, past MTNA president

“Continue learning and growing. There’s always something new that can inspire you, and that inspiration, that passion, that enthusiasm will translate to what your students are learning.”

Ann Gipson, past MTNA president

“If we’re professionals, and we are, it really behooves us to continue to educate ourselves. It’s really important to support our fellow teachers.”
